[baque_heading style=”style4″ text_align=”align-center” title=”During these unfamiliar times, it’s more important than ever to keep in touch. While our markets are closed due to Covid-19, we’ll be giving you regular updates from our traders…” baque_custom_id=”baque_custom_663cd200ba338″]
Our fruit and vegetable traders have been busy bringing fresh produce to homes across Cambridgeshire. St Ives Wholesale Produce are working around the clock to deliver fruit and vegetables and it’s been lovely to see the first local asparagus and ripe, juicy strawberries. Meanwhile, Fountain Fresh have expanded their veg boxes to include products from other local traders, like Silver Oak Coffee and Manor Farm Eggs.
For many of our Farmers’ Market regulars it’s still business as usual. Down on Fen Tomato Farm, Chris and Valentina are growing tomatoes, salad vegetables and soft fruit in their big greenhouses. You can follow their progress on the Fen Tomato YouTube channel. Over in Norfolk, The Briston Herd of Aberdeen Angus are delivering top-quality meat to Ely homes on a regular basis.
Missing your regular Ely Market coffee and cake treats? Luckily you can order Silver Oak’s locally roasted beans online, plus a great selection of coffee equipment. Their Aeropress is a really neat way to make your own coffee at home with minimal space and equipment. For the perfect elevenses, make sure you order some delicious cakes. Sophie’s Afternoon Tea, the Lemon Tree Deli and Brown Bread Online are all offering local delivery.
Cooking during lockdown can be tricky. Fortunately, some of our traders are here to make life easier. Borakis Greek Food are delivering their delicious olives, hummus and baked goods direct to customers’ doors. A slice of their Spinach and Feta Pie makes an easy and delicious meal! The Lemon Tree Deli and Azahar Spanish Food are also delivering cheese, cured meats and preserves.
Our craft and vintage traders are also keeping busy while our markets are closed. Many of these talented makers have online shops and continue to post out orders during lockdown. Hannah George, who runs Oriolo Jewellery, continues to curate her beautiful jewellery collections online. Right now, she’s getting a lot of repair work and bringing old jewellery back to life is proving to be particularly satisfying. If you want to try your hand at something creative, then The Woollery are delivering everything you need for knitting and crochet.
