On the 24th September we invited 10 local food bloggers to visit our Saturday and Farmer’s market to see the incredible range of stalls we have on offer. An enormous thank you to all our traders that took part, offering free samples, and talking so passionately about the market and their produce – you definitely made an impact! Everyone came away saying it was the people that made the market so special and that they would definitely be returning.
We were very grateful some of them have written up incredible blog posts including Michelle (an Ely local) of The Last Food Blog, Pina of One Two Culinary Stew, Gina Ferrari (another resident and baker herself) of Apricot and Figs and Charlotte who is treating us to a multi-part post – please do follow the links and have a read.

Ely Farmers’ Market celebrates its 16th anniversary this year on Saturday 25 June. Things have changed considerably since the first market way back at the dawn of the new millennium in 2000, for a start, the market now takes place twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Saturday, but trends and times change and visitors will discover a wide range of fresh local produce to tempt their taste buds!
We now boast a number of specifically vegan traders in our very own Ely Farmers’ Market “Vegan Alley” who are very adept at raising the profile of vegan and vegetarian lifestyles on social media – check out our Twitter feed @ElyMarkets if you want to find out more! Not forgetting the carnivores out there, there’s also plenty to satisfy meat eaters, from prime Aberdeen Angus beef to lamb, mutton and pork from Betty’s Meats and a range of pies from local favourites Edis’s and Brockleby’s.
If you’re not already a regular visitor to Ely Markets, check out our Twitter feed for news from our Saturday Craft Market traders featuring their latest craft, retro, vintage and antique offerings! Forget Ebay – pop and see what’s on at the market this Saturday!
